Chad Burrow, clarinet
Clarinetist, Chad Burrow, has a multifaceted career as an educator, solo artist, chamber musician and orchestral musician. In 2009, he was appointed to the clarinet faculty of the University of Michigan, where he serves as Associate Professor of Music. Additionally, Chad serves as principal clarinetist with the Ann Arbor Symphony, the Arizona MusicFest Orchestra, and is clarinetists and co-artistic director for the Brightmusic Chamber Music Society of Oklahoma. He also currently serves on the faculty for the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the Alpenkammermusik Festival, in Austria. Chad is the former principal clarinetist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, the New Haven Symphony, and the Quartz Mountain Music Festival. He is often a guest with the Detroit Opera Orchestra, the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, Detroit Chamber Solists, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Chad’s recent concert engagements have included performances in Austria, Denmark’s Thy Chamber Music Festival, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in Alice Tully Hall, Chamber Music Northwest, Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, and in Strasbourg, France. Chad has presented recent masterclasses at the 4th International Clarinet Festival in Taiwan, Yale University, Northwestern University, the University of Texas, and Rice University among others.
